The job description of the General Accountant in English

The General Accountant is the employee responsible for recording and analyzing all financial transactions within the organization. The General Accountant prepares daily and monthly financial reports and supervises the implementation of all accounting operations in accordance with the approved standards. He also collaborates with other departments to ensure the accuracy of accounts and compliance with financial regulations and local and international legislation.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Recording daily financial transactions such as revenues and expenses.
• Preparing monthly and annual financial reports and analyzing financial data.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations.
• Reviewing invoices and ensuring their accuracy and matching with financial records.
• Monitoring customer and supplier accounts and ensuring transaction accuracy.
• Conducting bank reconciliations and ensuring balance between bank and accounting records.
• Preparing necessary financial statements for managers and senior management.
• Assisting in preparing the general budget and monitoring expenditures.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting or finance.
• At least 2 years of experience in general accounting.
• Full proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems and other related accounting programs.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely collections and vendor settlements.
• Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi financial regulations, including ZATCA.
• Monitor cash flow and perform bank reconciliations.
• Support internal controls and process improvements within the accounting department.

• 2-3 years of proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of Saudi tax regulations including VAT and ZATCA compliance is preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software (*, ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Strong Excel and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
• Manage all accounting transactions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Reconcile accounts, ledgers, and reports.
• Ensure timely bank payments and perform bank reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely filing.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits.
• Maintain and update financial databases and systems.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
• Implement and manage internal controls.
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Provide insights on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization.
• Assist with payroll administration.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.

• Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Accounting or related field.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
• English proficiency is preferred.
