Key Responsibilities

About the Role

Air Products is seeking an experienced ICS Cybersecurity Engineer to join the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project in Duba, Tabuk Region, Saudi Arabia. This role is part of a Cybersecurity task force focused on the field verification of cyber assets. The engineer will ensure compliance with project specifications, site acceptance criteria, and local cybersecurity regulations. This position involves acting as a key technical interface, coordinating with Engineering, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, Client Operations, and vendors to ensure the secure integration of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure. The role contributes to a significant global capital project, focusing on the safety, security, and compliance of digital and automation systems throughout project phases from construction to final handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform field verification of cyber asset design, implementation, and testing against cybersecurity standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
  • Develop, document, and maintain the cybersecurity asset register and other key deliverables under the guidance of the Site Cybersecurity Lead or Cybersecurity Manager.
  • Organize and facilitate the resolution and implementation of cybersecurity risk assessment recommendations for Air Products' designs and vendor/skid package control systems.
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning teams by validating firewall rules, secure remote access configurations, endpoint hardening, asset inventory, access control execution, and logging before system energization.
  • Lead the development, execution, and performance testing of architecture, standards, and FAT/SAT/CSAT procedures.
  • Verify and approve third-party device access needs requested by subcontractors and vendors during commissioning and start-up phases for vendor packages.
  • Participate in technical coordination meetings with cross-functional teams as directed by the Site Cybersecurity Lead.
  • Coordinate with vendors and the Air Products engineering team to resolve punch list items identified during field verification of cyber assets.
  • Assist the Site Cybersecurity Lead with change management activities, including cybersecurity scope reviews for schedule and budget compliance across all project phases.
  • Prepare weekly updates and dashboards for the Site Cybersecurity Lead and the Project Cybersecurity Collaboration Lead.
  • Identify and escalate risks and opportunities, and collect lessons learned during vendor site visits and project execution.
  • Support OT cybersecurity handovers to operations, including procedures, asset inventories, access management, and incident response alignment.
  • Contribute to the development of the OT Cybersecurity Operations Model, covering monitoring, patching, backup, disaster recovery, and secure remote support.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics & Communication, or Instrumentation/Process Automation preferred) or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in Operational Technology (OT) or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience specifically focused on designing, building, or validating cybersecurity for industrial control systems and networks.
  • Proven project implementation experience with Saudi cyber standards (HCIS, NCA, CRA) and ISA 62443 industry standards.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems (SCADA/DCS/PLCs) and relevant protocols (Modbus, PROFINET, DNP3, IEC61850).
  • Familiarity with key cybersecurity technologies in ICS/OT networks, including Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Anti-Virus solutions, and Vulnerability Assessment tools.
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and handover phases, ensuring cybersecurity controls are implemented without impacting critical activities.
