Role Context and Responsibilities

As an engineering representative for the Data Center Field Engineering Team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects. This includes supporting data center site selection, planning, and development, as well as evaluating mechanical and electrical systems to make informed decisions aligned with AWS guidelines. The position requires regular visits to customer or non-corporate Amazon sites, and you will work from an Amazon building, Data Center, or customer location as business needs dictate.

  • Collaborate with colocation vendors to review designs for new data centers, providing input, reviewing submittals, and integrating AWS products to meet expectations.
  • Serve as the resident engineer during new colocation construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and handover processes.

Qualifications and Experience

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is necessary, with at least 6 years in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance. Additionally, a minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial or commercial engineering within mission-critical facilities, such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities, is required. Experience in carrying design concepts through development and deployment, and in reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents, is essential. Knowledge of building codes and regulations relevant to the region is also necessary.
