About the Role
Virtucruit is partnering with a leading company in Saudi Arabia to recruit a Drill Rig Mechanic (Trainee) for its Maintenance Department. This role is essential for supporting maintenance operations, including troubleshooting, repairing, and assisting in the installation of drill rig components. The primary objective is to minimize downtime and enhance overall rig productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental work practices at all times.
- Assist in conducting inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on Surface and Underground exploration drill rigs, specifically Epiroc Boyles and Diamec PHC models.
- Support senior mechanic technicians in diagnosing and repairing complex electro-hydraulic faults on underground drill rigs.
- Perform regular inspections of drilling equipment to identify potential issues and conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
- Utilize power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment to fabricate or repair components as required.
- Learn to operate computerized testing equipment to identify faults and ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts usage, and work hours.
- Assist in all maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring adherence to company safety standards and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
- Uphold good housekeeping practices in and around the workshop area.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a Technical Diploma or High School qualification with equivalent years of relevant experience.
- Have basic experience working with Surface and Underground exploration drill rigs; experience with Epiroc and Sandvik equipment is preferred.
- Demonstrate good English communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be a Saudi National.
